Cleveland Ave Hit: Store Employee Shot in the Face Over a Robbery
Share
Some people will risk it all for a Sprite. Others will risk it all for a few dollars in a gas station till.
According to Atlanta police, four people rolled into a business on Cleveland Avenue on the night of May 21 and turned what should’ve been a regular store shift into a robbery. Investigators say the group moved through the store, grabbed what they wanted, and headed for the door like it was just another lick.
That’s when things turned ugly.
What police say happened Detectives say it went down like this:
-
The robbery happened at a business on Cleveland Ave on the night of May 21.
-
Surveillance video shows four individuals inside the store—Atlanta PD has released the footage to the public.
-
As the group was leaving, a store employee confronted them.
-
One of the suspects pulled what’s believed to be a pellet or BB gun and shot the employee in the face before they took off.
-
When officers arrived, the employee confirmed he’d been shot.
This wasn’t some accidental discharge. You’ve already got the robbery, then someone decides to cap it off by aiming a weapon at the employee’s face on the way out.
The injury and the ask The employee survived and is recovering, but getting hit in the face at point‑blank range—even with a pellet or BB gun—isn’t light work. That’s eye injuries, scars, and a whole lot of trauma for somebody just trying to make it through their shift.
Now, Atlanta police are pushing the surveillance video and asking the public for help identifying the four suspects. Crime Stoppers says a tip that leads to an arrest and indictment could be worth up to $5,000.
Why this matters Everybody loves to talk tough about “just a BB gun” until it’s pointed at their face at work for a few dollars and whatever junk the suspects grabbed off the shelves. This is that Cleveland Ave reality: working a normal job, and somebody still turns you into a target on their way out the door.
If Atlanta PD drops more video or names suspects in this case, I’ll update this post so the timeline on Cleveland Ave stays straight.
